Junction Motor SpeedwayAttractions abound in York and York County. Lee's Marble Museum features over a million marbles -- and a million dollars' worth of marbles. The Anna Bemis Palmer Museum displays include memorabilia from Nebraska's only known connection to the "Rough Riders." Yorkshire Playhouse celebrates its 34th season, offering the finest in live entertainment five times a year. The York Children's Museum, York College, Kilgore Memorial Library, the annual Yorkfest celebration, Henderson's Christian Music Festival and many other fine stops await you.

Anna Bemis Palmer Museum
Location: 7th & Grant, York
This Daughter of the American Revolution museum traces the history of both Nebraska and York County using a variety of displays and special "period rooms."

Heritage Park
Location: Henderson, NE I-80 Exit 342, 1.5 miles south
Tracing the Mennonite heritage and history in 1874 from Holland and Russia to Henderson.

Industrial Tours
Upon request, several local businesses offer industrial tours of their plant locations. Possible tours include: the Abengoa Ethanol production facility, Champion Home Builders, Inc., Hamilton-Sundstrand, Pioneer Seed Corn processing facility, and the Nebraska Center for Women.

Kirkpatrick North Wildlife Management Basin
Location: One mile west of York
Part of the rainwater basin, this wetland serves as the home to the annual duck and geese migration. Thousands of ducks and geese can be seen in this area during the months of March, April and May as they return north for the summer.

Lee's Legendary Marble Museum
Location: 3120 S. Lincoln Ave., York
Newly opened, the museum houses one of the largest collections of vintage handmade and machine-made marbles in the state. Admission is free!

Recharge Lake
Location: 1.5 miles west of York on 4th St.
Developed as part of a Natural Resource District research project, Recharge Lake offers fishing and non-motorized boating opportunities.

Yorkshire Playhouse

Wessels Living History FarmWessels Living History Farm
A gift from the late David Wessels established the Living History Farm project, which aims to share the story of agriculture with the world. Live exhibits and demonstrations, television and internet technology will all be used to tell of the never-ending journey of agriculture.

York Area Children's Museum
Located in the south hallway of the York City Auditorium, the York Area Children's Museum has a number of interactive exhibits including a veterinary clinic, hair stylist shop, grocery store, science room, craft room and more. The Children's Museum is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on the 2nd Friday of each month from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Call Tricia at 402.728.5224 if you have questions.
