Over the next two weeks, York County is buzzing with exciting events! With Valentine’s Day approaching, there are plenty of ways to make someone in your life feel special. While I’ll be busy preparing for the Lifestyle and Outdoor Living Expo, I encourage you to take time to celebrate in your own way. Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a grand affair, it can be as simple as expressing appreciation to your friends, family, or partner. However, you choose to celebrate, make it meaningful!
Mark Your Calendars: February 7 - March 5: Sheldon Statewide Exhibition Finding Horizons Visits York from 8:00 to 5:00 PM Free to the public, this exhibition will be on show Monday through Friday in the lower-level gallery of Cornerstone Bank Main. Feb 14: Valentine’s Dinner at McLean Beef from 5:30 to 7:45 PM Join us for a premium steak dinner and live music by Dave Thompson that’s sure to impress your special someone for $46 a plate. Feb 15: Lifestyle and Outdoor Living Expo from 8:00 to 3:00 PM At the York Lifestyle & Outdoor Living Expo, you have the chance to view and learn about new home and garden products and services. Free admission will get you access to the pancake feed, shred truck, and electronic recycling. Feb 15: York Uncorked from 5:30 to 8:00 PM Share the evening with your sweetheart tasting fine wine, liquors, chocolates, treats and introducing amazing appetizers for all you bacon lovers. Tickets are $25 before hand and $30 at the door. Feb 16: heART in the Afternoon at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waco from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Local artist Carrie Johnson will share her mission of faith through art, which began with a trip to Paris when she was a teenager. There will be heart cake prepared by Genni Lekai, a special art project made by St. John’s youth, laughter, inspiration, and more! Feb 16: Nebraska Brass Present Lions & Tigers & Bears, Oh My! at 2:00 PM Join us as we host the Nebraska Brass Choir as the present “Lions & Tigers and Bear, Oh My!” Admission for adults ($15) and seniors ($12), while children and students are free. Feb 16: Rural Radio Record: A History of Nebraska’s Rural Radio Association at 2:00 PM Join us at the Anna Bemis Palmer Museum on Sunday for “Rural Radio Record: A History of Nebraska’s Rural Radio Association.” In this free presentation, special guests Gene Curtis and Anthony Jacobsen will discuss the history of the Nebraska Rural Radio Association and how it’s the only radio group in the nation that is COOP owned by Farmers and Ranchers, as well as the history of the radio station in York.
