Mark your Calendars: May 23, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm: Golfing with Grandparents York County Aging Services invites you to the 1st Golfing with Grandparents 9-hole Scramble at York Country Club. Two-person teams (1 adult/1 child) will enjoy a family-friendly day with prizes and goody bags for kids. May 24: Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park Open for the Season The Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park officially opens for the season. After the Memorial Weekend Kickoff, the park will resume its regular operating schedule, being open every Tuesday through Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. Visits may be arranged by appointment by calling 402-723-4550 or 402-723-4252. The park is located 1 1/2 miles south of Henderson, I-80 exit #342. More info here. May 24–26: Gresham Fireman’s Picnic Celebrate Memorial Weekend in Gresham! Saturday includes a horseshoe tournament, fun run, tractor drive, and alumni banquet. Sunday features a church service, car and tractor show, food trucks, kids’ games, tournaments, a parade, barbecue, and live music. Monday wraps up with a memorial service and pancake breakfast. May 26, 8:00 am – 11:00 am: Annual Memorial Day Breakfast Join the Waco CBO for breakfast at the Waco Community Building. Scrambled eggs with ham and toast will be served. May 26, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Memorial Day Brunch Enjoy brunch at St. Joseph Church, 423 East Ave., York. Free will donation. May 26, 10:30 am: Memorial Day Greenwood Cemetery Service American Legion Post 19 will hold a Memorial Day service at York Greenwood Cemetery. Flags go up at 7:00 am on May 24 and will be removed at 7:00 pm on May 26. Volunteers needed. May 30, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm: YC3 Arby’s Night Support YC3 by dining at Arby’s. May 31 – June 1: Tour Nebraska 2025 York welcomes Tour Nebraska, hosted by York Area Car Cruisers. Visit Holthus Convention Center May 31 to meet drivers and see hundreds of classic cars. May 31, 10:30 am: Summer Reading Kickoff Join the kickoff picnic at Kilgore Memorial Library with the Edgerton Explorit Center. May 31, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Kidz Blitz in the Park NEW HEIGHTS CHURCH hosts a free kids’ event at East Hill Park with food, inflatables, stage shows, and prizes. June 3, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm: Russia to America Kids’ Camp At Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park. June 3, 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm: Ukulele Club Meet at Kilgore Memorial Library.
