Halloween

10/29/2024

Being back in York during Halloween brings back a flood of memories from my childhood, especially the thrill of trick-or-treating. During Halloween my younger brother and I would venture out into the neighborhood, and being the mischievous little goblin he was, he couldn’t help but shout, “It’s my sister’s birthday!” at every house, all in the hopes of snagging extra candy. Looking back, I realize how his antics turned my birthday into a delightful adventure. While he cleverly used my special day as an opportunity to boost his candy haul, the evening unfolded with laughter and an abundance of treats for both of us. It’s a wonderful reminder that there’s something magical about sharing a birthday with Halloween—a night where the thrill of costumes, candy, and cherished memories intertwine. After all, what could be better than a birthday that doubles as a holiday?
