York County Buzzing with Summer Events this June

York County is kicking off summer with a full calendar of events that offer something for everyone. From community garage sales and farmers markets to creative workshops and live music, June is packed with opportunities to connect, create, and celebrate. Whether you’re looking for family fun, educational experiences, or just a reason to get out of the house, here’s a look at what’s happening across the county over the next two weeks:

June 6: Gaming with Tyler
Kilgore Memorial Library | 2:00–4:00 PM
Open to youth ages 10 to 18, this event invites young gamers to the library for an afternoon of interactive play and friendly competition.


June 7: Cruisers on the Farm
Wessels Living History Farm | 12:00–3:00 PM
Hosted by Wessels in partnership with the Evolution All Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Club, this event features classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles on display. DJ Danny Oberg from Knucklehead Garage will provide music, and trophies will be awarded. Registration is from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and costs $20. While on site, explore the farm's 1920s house, schoolhouse, and barn. Free will donations are accepted.


June 7: Henderson Community Garage Sales
Henderson, NE | 8:00 AM–2:00 PM
Henderson residents invite you to a citywide garage sale day. Maps will be posted at City Hall and the Henderson Food Mart to help you find the best deals.


June 9: Upcycled Art Journals
Kilgore Memorial Library | 6:00 PM
Get creative with a DIY journal-making workshop. No artistic skills are required—just your imagination and a willingness to explore recycled materials.


June 10 & 17: Ukulele Club
Kilgore Memorial Library | 5:00–6:30 PM


June 10 & 17: Henderson Downtown Park Farmers Market
Downtown Henderson | 5:00–7:00 PM


June 11: Peter Talley Interactive Gaming and Storytelling Workshop
Kilgore Memorial Library | 11:00 AM–1:00 PM
Join Peter Talley for a unique workshop that combines storytelling with interactive gaming elements, perfect for creative kids and teens.


June 12: Sweet Georgia Peaches
Holthus Convention Center | 8:00–8:30 AM
Start your day with a box of sweet Georgia peaches. Supplies are limited, so come early.


June 12: Exercise Your Creativity with Bruce Arant
Kilgore Memorial Library | 10:00–11:00 AM
Award-winning illustrator Bruce Arant leads a hands-on creativity workshop designed to spark imagination in participants of all ages.


June 12 & 19: York Farmers Market
Kilgore Memorial Library | 5:00–7:00 PM


June 13: Food Truck Night
Olde York Plaza | Evening
Satisfy your cravings with a variety of food trucks gathered downtown for a lively community night out.


June 14: York Area Car Cruisers Car Show
Harrison Park | 12:00–3:00 PM
Classic and custom cars take center stage at Harrison Park. It’s a great event for car enthusiasts and families alike.


June 14: Gravel Street Live Music at Blended Distilling
Blended Distilling | 5:00–8:00 PM
Enjoy live music from Gravel Street while sipping your favorite beverage. Bring your lawn chair and settle in for an evening of relaxation.


June 16: Homemade Paper Workshop
Kilgore Memorial Library | 6:00 PM
Learn how to create beautiful recycled paper for use in journaling, crafts, or personalized notes.


June 17: Building Imagination Every Day with Curtis Mork, the LEGO Guy
Kilgore Memorial Library | 10:00 AM
Join Curtis Mork for a hands-on LEGO workshop that inspires creativity and constructive play.


June 17: Leadership York Graduation
Stone Creek Event Center | 5:00 PM
Celebrate the 30th class of Leadership York with a keynote address from Nebraska Head Football Coach Matt Rhule. Tickets are available through the York Chamber of Commerce.


June 20–21: City-Wide Garage Sales – York
Various Locations in York | 8:00 AM–2:00 PM
Take part in York’s annual garage sale tradition. Shoppers can follow yellow numbered yard signs and access a digital map via JustMelanieW.com and local Facebook groups.


June 20: York Chamber Golf Tournament
Lifelong Learning at SCC Learning Center – York
Looking to learn something new or develop a skill? Southeast Community College is offering workshops for adults:
